Wrestlemania 38 Weekend Results
Stupendous! That's the word to describe participation in Outside Interference's annual Wrestlemania Weekend viewing party and prediction contest. With over 6000 comments over the span of the three days, you've kept the spirits high and expectations were they should be, probably. One could argue most people's quality expectations were inverted with regard to both nights. Night One shocked many where it was seen coming into it as the more tepid of the two. Night Two beat some expectations at times, but generally underdelivered compared to the surprise delights and expected returns of the prior. Not to go unmentioned, NXT Stand and Deliver gave us a good appetizer that also shared the the theme of inverted expectations. The undercard snuck up on us as the main card delivered, but cooled by event's end. Overall, a good show that furthered the ever-upward trajectory of the splattered rainbow paint brand. A weekend chock full of wrestling, it was! And it continues tonight with the Raw after Wrestlemania. Before we can start this manic cycle once more, we must crown new champions and acknowledge those who kept a belt (but not necessarily the one they came to the dance in.)
First off, let's get to the Waffle House World Championship, which has not been defended since November at NXT 2.0: War Games. 21 men stood, one delivered. Edging out the competition with 8 points, and new Outside interference Waffle House World Champion,
Damien Demento
Onward into Mania, the trademark Outside Interference titles saw defense this weekend as well. As is tradition, let's start at the bottom of the ladder and give tribute to the losing duo this side of the IWC, and still your Outside Interference Ho Bag Tag Team Champions with a most not stupendous 11 points,
Thrawn and Borg
Next, we turn our eyes upward toward the tag team turmoil at the top. I say that not only with alliteration on my mind, but this has been the most even battle for the Tag Team titles this set of eyes has seen. That isn't to suggest that this applied to the top of the hill. While every team (but one, you already may figure who) put between 18 and 22 points on the map, only one reigned superior at this juncture. Toppling the former champions by one point, your new Outside Interference Tag Team World Champions,
SWR and Senor Generic
Back down to underground, we search the sewers for a familiar face. Rung by rung, your Outside Interference POS Champion descends, but this month he was joined by several. One man dared touched the ground Thrawn calls his rightful territory. Dr Dong and Thrawn face each other, four points in hand. Whose tiebreaking answer is more off the total time of the Raw Women's Championship bout? One man guessed 25 minutes. The other, "shorter than Will Smith slap on Chris Rock" which can be approximated to either less than 1 second to 5 seconds (from seat to cheek.) This is the closest this author can recall a POS battle being. With the match lasting 12 minutes and 17 seconds (personally recorded for accuracy), and new Outside Interference POS Champion,
Dong
Finally, from the dung to the top rung, we reach the Outside Interference World Championship chase. New OI Tag Team Champion SWR came out of Elimination Chamber with the 50 Kilobytes of Gold. With a righteous fight among 25 combatants, the competition was as thick as ever. Much like the tussle tandems, near the top of the ladder was a crowed, but two men stood higher than the field. One is your defending champion. Which of the two mean who would stand atop their competition would claim the mantle of best coming out of the Grandest Stage of Them All at the greatest nook in the IWC? With 13 points and new Outside Interference World Champion
